In the past few weeks, Enfield Council’s waste services team has been going to great lengths to tell us that our refuse collection day has changed. We received leaflets telling us that the day would be changing, but not which day it would change to. To find this out we were required to look at a website. Then two waste operatives walked up and down my road carefully attaching large colourful tags to our recycling bins that were awaiting collection on the pavement. These inform us that our recycling day has changed from Wednesday to… Wednesday, which leaves me with just two questions — firstly, why did they bother mentioning it, and secondly, are they mad?

We would like to thank the staff at Reardon Court Care Home in Cosgrove Close, Winchmore Hill, for the kindness and compassion they showed to our mother and all the elderly folk who are in their care.

Following ‘Upgrade our footpath’ (Enfield Independent, February 18), according to ‘Our Enfield’ of May, Enfield Council is to upgrade footpaths between Tewkesbury Terrace and Maidstone Road and between Maidstone Road and Shrewsbury Road, new Southgate.
