Harry Kane was - as so often in competitive action this season - the match winner as Tottenham Hotspur brought their end-of-season tour to a close with a 1-0 win against Sydney FC.

The England international got the game's only goal, building on his match-winning double against a Malaysia XI earlier in the week, to bring Spurs' season to an end.

For Kane the work does not stop, though, with the young striker now set to join up with his England Under-21 teammates for the Under-21 European Championships in the Czech Republic.

In front of 71,549 supporters in Australia, Kane notched the decisive goal two minutes before half time to end Tottenham's tour on a high note.

Speaking to the club website, head coach Mauricio Pochettino said: “First of all, I’m very happy to be here with our supporters in Australia, they are just incredible, it was an unbelievable atmosphere.

“It was a tough game because Sydney FC are a very good team and after a tough season our players are a little tired, but we tried to show our skills to our fans here.

“It’s just fantastic that our players are so close to our people.

“The game ticked the boxes. It was an opportunity to play the younger players and I’m happy with them, they’ve improved a lot and this is a great experience for them.

“This post-season tour has been all positive.”
