A dominant performance from Enfield saw them complete a 209-run win against Middlesex County Cricket League Division Three leaders Uxbridge.

After being inserted, Enfield seized the initiative through Jack Plumb (100). He shared partnerships of 73 with skipper Neil Tilley (34) and 133 for the second wicket with Tom Marsh (59).

Kyal Bacchus-Brown maintained the momentum with a quick-fire 37 and Enfield declared on 279 for five. Apart from a second-wicket stand of 40 between Malkeet Daliwal (17) and Tony Stephens (23), Uxbridge had no answer to Enfield’s opening attack of Leo Smith and Darran Greene.

They collapsed from 45 for one to 69 all out in 25 overs. Smith (six for 31) was the pick of the bowlers for Enfield.

Meanwhile, Enfield Seconds remain six points off the bottom after losing by three wickets to local rivals Southgate Seconds.

Enfield Thirds extended their lead at the top of 1987 League Division Two by beating second-placed Alexandra Park Thirds by five wickets.

Captain Mel Burles (four for 12), Mohammad Hassan (three for35) and Zia Saeed (three for 45) bowled Alaxanadra Park out for 133.

Saeed then went on to hit 48 not out to lead Enfield to victory.
