Enfield Borough secured a home tie in the quarter-finals of the Middlesex Intermediate Cup after they defeated Kensington Dragons FC 2-1.

Following the controversial end to their last meeting where the referee made a mistake by playing extra-time instead of going to penalties, the Middlesex FA ordered the teams to replay the tie.

The second half started more evenly with the hosts opening the scoring.

In the 65th minute, Enfield got the breakthrough. Thomas Opoku intercepted the ball from a tight angle and guided the ball home into the net, but their lead was shortlived.

Despite looking comfortable Kensington’s wide man got the ball on the wing and hit an unstoppable strike from 20 yards out.

With time running out and a penalty shoot-out looming, Opoku was fouled in the box and Borough grabbed the winner through Alfie Hatch, who sent the keeper the wrong way.
