CHRISTIAN DAILLY says Rangers will meet head-on the fixture chaos that could hamper their run-in.

Walter Smith's side scraped a 1-1 draw against Partick Thistle at Ibrox in the quarter-final of the Scottish Cup after going a goal behind.

That shock result means a replay at Firhill - but in Rangers' congested calendar finding a date has thrown up another massive headache.

The SFA will today look for a slot, with Sunday, April 13 - the date set aside for the semi-final against St Johnstone - the most likely choice.

Should Rangers get through against the Jags, the semi-final would have to be accommodated along with their three outstanding SPL games - against Celtic, St Mirren and Motherwell.

And should Rangers get past Sporting Lisbon in the Uefa Cup on April 3 and 10, two more midweeks would be wiped out next month for potential semi-final legs.

It's the worst fixture pile-up in years, but Dailly says Rangers players will just get on with it.

"The run of games has its demands. In an ideal world you would like a free week free to work on things in training and maybe recover a bit," he said.

"But that is life at Rangers this season given the trophies we are chasing, and none of the boys are complaining at all.

"Of course we would have preferred to have won last night and cracked on, but we'll just keep going.

"We just go with the flow in terms of when the powers that be tell us to play, although no-one really knew last night when the Thistle replay will be."

No 2 Ally McCoist agreed it's not an ideal situation, but said: "We'll have to get on with it. We don't know the ins and outs, whether the replay may take precedence over SPL matches, although there isn't much room.

"Whenever we have to go to Firhill, we will be ready to play."

Dailly added: "We were very disappointed not to have won last night, but credit to Thistle, who came and set their stall out well.

"I think we were a bit lacklustre in the final third, and when it's like that and you don't get a goal then the away teams take confidence at Ibrox.

"I felt they did that and they were pleased that their game plan was working well. We came back again from losing a goal, but we badly wanted the win.

"Of course we know we can play a lot better and we'll get stick, but that's part and parcel. We just need to regroup and look at Hibs now which will be another tough game."

Kirk Broadfoot will be suspended for the replay after picking up his second booking.
