Enfield Town boss Bradley Quinton predicted a victory for his side at league-leaders Maidstone United at the club's AGM on Thursday and was duly rewarded come Saturday.

The Towners ran out 3-0 winners at the Gallagher Stadium, ending the Stones' unbeaten home record this season and becoming just the second side to win at Maidstone since last April. It was also the first home game in which the Stones have not scored for an incredible two years.

"The boys are buzzing," enthused Quinton. "I mentioned it on Thursday night at the AGM that I thought we would win, so it all went to plan in the end.

"The guys have been on it in training and have been for a few weeks now. I just felt that seeing the response in training since the Tonbridge Angels game (Enfield lost 2-1) and the win at Canvey that we could do something," Quinton added.

Maidstone play on a 3G artificial pitch at the Gallagher Stadium and although Quinton admitted it was undoubtedly an advantage for Jay Saunders' side, he refuted the suggestion it required different preparation to normal.

"We train on a 3G surface during the week anyway," explained Quinton. "There is no doubt it is an advantage for them because they train on it all week but we don't look for excuses and it is the same for all sides going there; it is just something you have to deal with."

New signing Bobby Devyne added to his goal in the 3-2 win over Canvey Island last week by scoring two further breakaway strikes to take his tally to three in just two games since joining from Spartan South Midlands Division Two side Brimsdown.

Devyne's double came late on after Claudiu Vilcu scored his third in four games for the Towners by sweeping home from a first-half corner.

Reflecting on the impact of the duo, Quinton said: "Those two players have been absolutely fantastic for us. They were two players I have been looking at for quite a while and it has been great to see them hit the ground running as they have."

Quinton added: "We are in talks with one other player but we won't rush into it because we don't disparately need anyone else at the moment."

Left-back Gabriel made his debut from the bench against Maidstone after following in Devyne's footsteps last week to join the Isthmian Premier Division side.

The 23-year-old has arrived to provide cover for regular full-backs Joey Stevens and Phil Kane and speaking to Brimsdown's website, said: "I had a great time at Brimsdown. The coaching staff really helped me improve my game. I now feel ready to take on any challenge.

"It was a long time since me and me brothers had played in the same team, that was also the good thing about playing for Brimsdown. I know [my brothers] Ralston, Riess and the rest of the boys will continue to play well, and hopefully keep their unbeaten run going."

Gabriel scored three times in 13 appearances for Brimsdown this season and has previously turned out for Conference side Dover Athletic and played in the USL Pro League for Antigua Barracuda FC.

Former Chelsea academy player Devyne, who netted 15 times in just 14 appearances for the Limers this season, said: "I've known (manager) Marvin (Walker) and (assistant manager) Aaron (Archer) for a few years.

"So whilst trying to overcome my injury, I knew Brimsdown was the right club to be at. They both (Marvin and Aaron) encourage everyone to get the ball down and play. The quality of the coaching and players are of a very high standard, that's what made it so enjoyable.

"Hopefully they can get continue to win games and get promoted," he added.
