Enfield Town have appointed Bradley Quinton – previously assistant to George Borg – as the club’s new first-team manager.

Quinton, 35, joined the Towners on a dual registration from Braintree Town last season, playing a key role as Enfield avoided the drop out of the Ryman Premier Division.

In the summer, the defender, who spent 14 years at Braintree, joined Enfield on a permanent basis as player-assistant to the now-departed Borg.

Speaking to the club’s website, Quinton said: “I’m absolutely thrilled and extremely honoured to have been asked to manage the club.

“I want my teams to deliver performances that make supporters proud and look forward to showing people what a fantastic football club this is both on and off the pitch.”

He continued: “We have a brilliant bunch of players and their hard work and support for me since I’ve been here has been outstanding. There is enormous potential here, I can’t wait to get started and will work hard to deliver the success that this club deserves.”

Chairman Paul Reed said of the appointment: “Bradley was the unanimous choice of the board and we’re delighted that he has accepted the position. Since he joined us last season Brad has impressed everyone with his professionalism, intelligence, attitude and passion for the game.

“During his time at Braintree, Brad stepped in as caretaker manager on a number of occasions and always had a positive impact on results.

“The feedback we’ve had on him from a number of well-respected people within the game has been exemplary. I’m sure everyone will get behind Bradley and the team and join me in wishing him every success in his new role.”

Quinton made 30 appearances for the Towners last season and had already made two starts and two substitute appearances this season.
