Tottenham Hotspur would be willing to let Benoit Assou-Ekotto leave the club for nothing this summer, according to the Daily Mail.
Assou-Ekotto spent last season on loan at Queens Park Rangers, and while the R’s secured an immediate return to the Premier League via the play-offs, the 30-year-old played no part in their win at Wembley.
With the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino at White Hart Lane, it is believed Spurs are looking to either loan out or sell up to seven players in an attempt to make room for new arrivals.
The Cameroonian international, who featured for The Indomitable Lions at the World Cup in Brazil, is likely to be one of the casualties as Pochettino looks to stamp his mark on the Tottenham squad.
The left-back’s chances of remaining at White Hart Lane were threatened further with the arrival of Ben Davies for £10m from Swansea City, while Danny Rose recently put pen to paper on a new deal.
