Swansea City left-back Ben Davies is set to undergo a medical at Tottenham Hotspur after leaving his club’s pre-season tour of the United States early, according to BBC Sport.
Recently appointed Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino, a keen admirer of the 21-year-old Welsh defender, looks set to have beaten Liverpool to the player’s signature.
Davies first burst into the Swansea first team as a 19-year-old after left-back Neil Taylor suffered a long-term injury in August 2012 and quickly established himself following a string of impressive performances.
His fine run of form was rewarded by Wales manager Chris Coleman when he was handed an international debut in a 2-1 victory over Scotland in October 2012.
Despite speculation concerning his future since the opening of the transfer window, Davies travelled with the Swans to their American pre-season training camp.
Gylfi Sigurdsson, who was on loan at Swansea in 2012, is expected to return to the Liberty Stadium in a deal which will also see Michel Vorm move to White Hart Lane.
