New Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is aiming to make Roma striker Mattia Destro his first signing with a reported £14 million offer, according to the Metro.

Pochettino has been given funds to mould together a squad which fits his style, with the Argentine looking to bring in younger players, much like he did at Southampton.

Destro, 23, scored 13 goals in 20 Serie A matches and is in Italy’s World Cup squad after his good run of form.

However, Destro’s agent has recently revealed that the player would like to stay in the Italian capital.
