Ellenborough Table Tennis Club’s Denise Payet took top honours in the Girls Under-13 category at the Jack Petchey Foundation north London finals.

The Enfield County School pupil, who has represented England, held off competition from a number of players to seal top spot.

The 12-year-old [pictured] said: “I love the people and the coaches. I enjoy this competition because I know the school is really proud of me when I win.”

The event bought together 77 students from 21 different schools from Barnet, Enfield, Haringey and Waltham Forest.
