Andre Villas-Boas says he is hopeful that Welsh starlet Gareth Bale will make a quick recovery and only miss one Premier League game.

The Tottenham winger had to be replaced at the weekend against Fullham as he pulled up holding his hamstring after he took a shot.

Bale will definitely miss the game against Everton this weekend, but Villas-Boas hopes that it will be the only game Bale is absent.

"He will not make Everton but could be back for next weekend. But I have other options and I have excellent players," he said.

The Spurs boss also suggested midfielder Scott Parker and full-back Benoit Assou-Ekotto could return for the match against Swansea.

Villas-Boas said: "It is ever so close for them. Maybe not this week, but maybe next Sunday against Swansea.

"However, they have both been out for some time, so we have to be sensible with the situation."

Parker was Tottenham's player of the season last year but the form of Sandro so far this campaign has led some to question where Parker will fit in the team.

But Villas-Boas insists the England international has a big part to play in Tottenham's season.

"Parker is an amazing player and it is a big boost for us. He is an exceptional player and it means more competition for places," Villas-Boas said.

"We haven't been able to rest as much as we wanted, so the more options the better for me. More headaches for the manager but we are very grateful to see Scotty back."

"He is focused on getting back and that is his big motivation at the moment. He wants to be part of the team and I'm sure he will be part of the team. It is not even a consideration."
