I am writing to say a huge thank you to Enfield for the part it played in the history of Crown Worldwide as we celebrate the company’s 50th anniversary.
I started the business with just US$1,000 in a tiny cubicle in Yokohama, Japan, in 1965 and it was impossible to envisage then what a remarkable success story it was going to become.
We now have 265 offices in some 60 countries across the world, offering moving, relocations and storage services.
To mark our birthday staff worldwide – including those in the United Kingdom – have been holding celebration events, raising money for charity and arranging photoshoots; and to see them having so much fun makes the achievement of reaching 50 even more meaningful.
We began our celebrations by visiting the Mayor of Yokohama, Mayor Fumiko Hayashi, to show our appreciation for the part her city played in the birth of our company.
I would now like to extend that same appreciation to the people of Enfield for hosting Crown Worldwide and playing a part in its success.
We can look forward to an exciting future together.
Jim Thompson
Founder and chairman of Crown Worldwide
