Regarding Loizos Elia’s letter (‘Takeaway rating was unjustified’, Opinion, March 11) about the zero rating on his takeaway business Captain Cook, we would like to say that we have been regular customers of this business since shortly after it opened.
The kitchen is certainly visible from the counter and it is spotless. The waiting area is kept very clean and the food is served in hygienic packaging and is always perfectly cooked.
We think it is grossly unfair to give a business 14 days to comply with work needed to reach the required standard, (especially as the ‘failing’ was temporary teething troubles) and then not return to check the work has been done and rate the business accordingly.
What is the point of requiring compliance if the request is not followed up promptly after the 14 days have elapsed? It makes these ratings meaningless and we are wondering if we can trust them at all.
We shall certainly be continuing to buy food from Captain Cook and we highly recommend this establishment.
