I think it’s easy to jump on the bandwagon when Chase Farm Hospital receives bad publicity. All this does is put increased pressure on already understaffed wards and creates negativity toward those trying to do the best with the tools they are given. The Canterbury Ward at Chase Farm Hospital is an amazing ward with an amazing team.
I have been treated there twice within the past 18 months. They are friendly, the ward is spotless and I was in and out with no complications on both occasions.
On the day of my second operation the ward was very understaffed due to sickness but the staff continued with a great attitude and humour.
As Henry Ward Beecher once said: “Mirth is God’s medicine. Everybody ought to bathe in it.”
If this is the case then should we not encourage mirth to radiate through our hospitals, instead of the constant negativity?
