SHE might just be the only woman in Britain who is allowed to go to work with a hangover.

And there is no doubting that Helen Moores' job is the envy of millions of British men.

For petite Helen, from Enfield, gets paid to travel the world to drink - in her role as Tesco's beer buyer.

However, as fun as it sounds, Helen is one of the most influential people in the UK beer trade and her knowledge and judgement is helping broaden the nation's taste in global brews.

That work is already having an effect on British beer drinking habits, with her recommendations leading Tesco to double its range of world brews inside the last 18 months from 15 to 30.

And the move has obviously hit the right note with the British public as sales for these beers has grown by 40 per cent in the last year.

Helen said: "Britain now has one of the most diverse populations in the world and with so many different nationalities living here there is a growing demand for a much wider range of foods and alcohol than ever before.

"But we also know from customer feedback that more Brits are now trying new beers and helping the UK to grow out of its tired reputation of being a country that enjoys warm, flat beer."

So with all her expertise, what are Helen's absolute favourite beers?

She added: "They do change but at the moment I really enjoy Baltika which is from Russia and has a nice hoppy aroma and malty taste, and Svyturys Ekstra, from Lithuania which has a great tanginess."
