A MAN who drove his pregnant girlfriend from Portsmouth to mutilate her in a Southgate flat has been jailed for life.

On March 1 this year, Frederick Kwaku Semanshia, 21, of Wood Green, snatched his 19-year-old partner from the port city and returned to the capital where he carried out a prolonged attack on her in an ad-hoc torture chamber.

Sick Semanshia bent the teenager over a bath and sliced off her ear. He then threw her severed organ down the abandoned residence's drain.

After this gory preamble, Semanshia then cut the woman about her face, hands, thighs and the soles of her feet.

After subjecting her to the brutal ordeal, Semanshia forced his terrified victim to accompany him on a extended drive, during which he purchased bandages, before dumping her in Waltham Cross.

Semanshia pleaded guilty at Wood Green Crown Court last week to grievous bodily harm and false imprisonment. He will serve at least four years and nine months before being considered for bail.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Greg Coates said: "The sentence reflects the seriousness of what was an horrific, pre-planned violent crime, and underlines the commitment of police and the courts to dealing with such offences."
