Animal-lovers who donned cat costumes to walk through Enfield on Saturday raised £277 for charity.
The sponsored walk, which was organised by animal-lover Nicole Herrigan, took four hours and fifteen minutes and raised money for The Greek Cat Welfare Society.
She recruited her family and friends to walk from her house in Waltham Cross to Hertford Road in Enfield, then to Cadmore Lane in Cheshunt before walking back to Waltham Cross through Lea Valley.
The group raised £110.43 in donations from people along the way, with the rest of the money collected from friends and family.
Ms Herrigan said: “It has been brilliant – I didn’t think we were going to get that much of a response but people were taking photos and were asking for the charity’s number so they can donate.”
The Greek Cat Welfare Society is dedicated to caring for and neutering stray and feral cats in Greece.
Ms Herrigan visited Greece earlier this year and was so struck by the good work the charity does, she pledged to support them from the UK.
