The man who was fatally stabbed after an argument with a group of men has been named as Christopher John Barry.

Better known as Jack, the 53-year-old was stabbed outside his home in Brickland Court, The Broadway, in Edmonton at around 7.50pm on Sunday, December 14.

The stabbing occurred following an altercation between Mr Barry and a group of men who were attempting to get into the block of flats to attend a “supervised party”.

Four teenage boys, aged 13 and 14, were arrested on suspicion of murder and have subsequently been bailed to return to an east London police station in January.

Another 13-year-old boy was arrested in Enfield yesterday on suspicion of murder  and remains in custody at an east London police station.

A neighbour, who chose not to be named, described the events on the evening of Mr Barry’s death.

She said: “We were asked to take the next door neighbour in by the police and they told us her boyfriend had been attacked by some guys as they came into the building.

“She was crying a lot and she was very upset.”

Another neighbour described the 52-year-old as a “polite and kind” man.
