Sir Terry Wogan is calling on the people of Enfield to bake one of the nation’s favourite cakes in aid of Children In Need.

Joined by Tess Daly, Fearne Cotton, Nick Grimshaw, Alex Jones and Matt Baker, the team is asking people to become a '#bakinghero' and host bake sales with their chosen cake to support the 2014 appeal.

BBC Children in Need has ten projects in Enfield, contributing £268,130 while working with young lives facing poverty and deprivation, disability and issues surrounding abuse and neglect.

Mr Wogan said: “Come on Enfield; be a baking hero for BBC Children in Need. I’m captain of Team Lemon Drizzle – go on and bake one for your friends, family and colleagues, and as your cake rises, you'll be raising money for disadvantaged children and young people all across the UK.”

David Ramsden, chief executive of BBC Children in Need says: “There are thousands of children and young people right here in the UK who urgently need our help and we can only be there for them thanks to the incredible generosity, imagination and commitment of our supporters.”
