Thirty members of the Afghan National Olympic team enjoyed a fast-breaking dinner in a Palmers Green mosque yesterday.
Ajmal Faizzada, 25, who was defeated in the first round of the men’s 66kg judo on Sunday, July 29, was amongst team members who attended the dinner in Palmers Green Mosque in Oakthorpe Road at 7pm.
The athletes were invited to the mosque along with members of community groups in Enfield.
The fast-breaking meal, known as an Iftar, encourages people with different faiths, ages, and beliefs, to come together during the month of Ramadan.
The Muslim-led event is one of many social action activities taking place across the UK during August to coincide with Ramadan.
