A man was assaulted in Palmers Green on Saturday afternoon.
The man, who is in his 30s, was attacked at the junction of Princes Avenue and Green Lanes at approximately 12pm.
He was taken to a north London hospital with head injuries in a stable condition.
Witnesses Jack Little and Fred Wright, both 20, saw a large section of the road cordoned off just after 3pm while forensic officers investigated the scene.
Mr Wright, who was driving from North Circular Road, said a lot of blood was visible on the pavement.
No arrests have been made and Edmonton Crime Investigation Department is investigating.
