A MAN who beat a three-year-old boy and left him with more than 50 bruises has been jailed for four years.

Tomasz Jasinski, 35, will be deported back to Poland when he is released from prison after being found guilty of child cruelty.

Police said he beat and abused the child over several months, using items including a slipper and a belt to hit him with.

The abuse continued at a home near Palmers Green, Wood Green Crown Court heard, until the boy's mother raised the alarm and called police, in February.

Haringey Child Abuse Investigation Team were called in and found the boy covered in bruises, mainly on his legs and buttocks.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Chris Wastie said: "The judge, plus many others involved in the case, said this was one of the worst examples of physical abuse he had seen.

“Jasinski showed no remorse and tried to blame others for the injuries.

"I am pleased at Jasinski's conviction and that he will be deported after serving his sentence."

Jasinski, of Leyton, east London, was sentenced on Thursday, October 27 after a jury unanimously found him guilty.
