YOUNG PEOPLE from Enfield gave Black History Month a send off to remember on Saturday night.

The show called, I know I can, at the Gladys Aylward Theatre, celebrated Enfield’s home grown talent with performances from young people aged 13-19.

The event, the finale of Black History Month, featured a number of acts including singers, dancers, musicians, MCs, comedians and many more.

The show had a special performance from dance group Cerebro, who performed a new routine, which proved a real crowd pleaser.

Organiser Sarah Greaves said: “It went really really well and the young people did us proud.”

“It was a great show and everyone performed to such a high standard in front of a full house. What more could you ask for.”

“I want to say congratulations to everyone who performed and to all the people at the Edmonton Hub and big thank you to everyone who came out and supported us.”

Organisers want to repeat the event next year but in a bigger space so more people can enjoy the show.

Ms Greaves said: “We are definitely going to put on the event again and we are going come back bigger and even better.”

This year’s event is the third and has grown thanks to the success of performances of previous years.

Councillor Bambos Charalambous said: “The past two years have shown our young people are simply bursting with energy, talent and a desire to bring some great entertainment to the borough.’
