A ROAD earmarked for a fresh safety programme is blocked this morning after a car crash.
A blockage in Hedge Lane is being reported this morning, at the junction with Ash Grove, causing delays for motorists in both directions.
Enfield Council is due to implement a series of measures to improve safety in the road, including traffic islands to reduce speed, anti-skid surfacing, and double yellow lines.
The scheme was the subject of a challenge by opposition Conservative councillors on Tuesday, October 25, who argued not enough consultation had been done and one of the proposed traffic islands went against Transport for London advice.
But scrutiny councillors approved the original scheme, opting against referring it back to the Labour cabinet for more consideration.
