AN ex-soldier will put people through their paces in a fitness class in a leafy setting this weekend.

David Bolas, of Hertfordshire, who served in the Royal Scots for nine years, said the class is open to everyone aged 16 and over and is not a boot camp.

He said: “Its all about having fun. We care for all abilities. As long as you are fit to train, you can take part.

"We start working the body with exercises and then we might do relays and games. We’ve taken what works in the military and adapted it so it is fun and safe.

“Its not a boot camp, there are no instructors standing over you shouting at people. We are encouraging.”

The classes are run by British Military Fitness, which has 17,000 members across the country and 100 in Enfield.

The hour-long classes, the first of which is free, are held at Enfield Town Park on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7pm, and Trent Park on Saturday mornings from 10.30am.
