NORTH Middlesex Hospital opens its new £123m facility next month.
The hospital, which has London's 4th busiest A&E with 160,000 visitors per year, will open the doors to a modern block housing a state-of-the-art A&E, outpatient services, 12 intensive care beds and eight operating theatres and other services.
The official opening will be on June 1, with A&E patients moved next Wednesday and the rest of the services expected to be in place by the weekend.
The new 25,000 square foot development, which represents a third of the current building space on the site, replaces a 1970s outpatients block and the current A&E department.
It was paid for with a 30-year PFI deal with a consortium which includes French mobile telephone provider Bouygues Telecom.
