ACROSS Enfield, two-thirds of pupils are getting top grades at GCSE level, a significant rise on last year.
Scores have improved from 58 per cent last year to 67 per cent of pupils achieving five or more A* to C.
The proportion of pupils achieving five A*to C including English and mathematics at grades C and above has improved by just over two per cent on the 2008 level to 50 per cent.
Cllr Glynis Vince, cabinet member for education, children’s services and youth, said: ”This is a big improvement across the borough. Our schools have risen to our challenge to meet a target of 52.1 per cent for five A to C results including English and mathematics. "Although they haven’t quite made it, they have certainly responded well. Congratulations to students and teachers.”
