A YOUNG MAN was stabbed on the street in Edmonton last night.

The man, who is believed to be 18, was involved in a fight near a bus stop and is now in hospital in a serious condition with stab wounds. He was reportedly stabbed in the back.

Police were called at about 10.15pm to Morley Avenue, off Fore Street, after the fight was reported.

The man is believed to have walked in to North Middlesex Hospital himself. No-one else is believed to have been injured as a result of the incident.

Police have now reopened Fore street, which was partially closed.

An eyewitness said: "There was a 12 inch pool of blood next to the bus stop. It made me feel sick to look at it. They must have fallen - that person was obviously there for a while."

The site is opposite the food hut of Blessing Nmezu, mother of Iyke, who died aged 16 after being hit around the head with a brick last year.
