A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after another man was stabbed to death.

Metropolitan Police arrested a man, 32, yesterday (September 22) on suspicion of murder after Brian Edwards, 53, was stabbed to death in Haringey on Tuesday (September 19).

The 32-year-old remains in custody.

Police launched a murder investigation after being called by the London Ambulance Service at 4am on Tuesday to Upper Tollington Park after reports of a stabbing.

Emergency services found a man with injuries but despite their efforts he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem took place on Wednesday (September 20) and gave stab injuries as the cause of Brian's death.

Detective Chief Inspector Lucy Carberry said: "This arrest marks a significant development in our quest to secure justice for Brian’s family.

"However, we remain keen to speak to anyone who was in the area and witnessed this incident, or anyone who can help shed background on the events that led to the attack on Brian to come forward.

"Your information could prove to be vital in helping us further this investigation and provide the answers Brian’s family deserve.”
