Police have arrested a second man in connection with the shooting of a woman in Tottenham.

The 26-year-old man was arrested in Sheffield on Wednesday on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of ammunition. He has been taken to custody in London.

The London Ambulance Service called police at 6.28am on Tuesday, December 27 after reports that someone had been shot at the junction of West Green Road and Grove Park Road.

Officers attended with paramedics but nobody with injuries was found. They checked nearby hospitals and confirmed at around 6.50am that a 24-year-old woman had been taken to a north London hospital without the assistance of the emergency services.

Initial enquiries suggest the woman was shot in the West Green Road area shortly before 6.30am.

The woman has since been discharged following treatment.

A 25-year-old man was arrested on December 28 on suspicion of possession of firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Police are appealing for witnesses who saw or heard anything suspicious at around the time of the shooting.

Despite the early hour, there were a significant number of people around as a party was taking place nearby.
