Temporary traffic restrictions are set to be introduced on several roads in and around Enfield for the forthcoming elections.

Voters in the borough will go to the polls on May 5 and a notice from Enfield Council in this week’s edition of the Enfield and Haringey Independent details plans to prohibit vehicles, as and when directed by traffic signs, from waiting and loading in specified streets “to ensure public safety during the delivery and removal of polling stations”.

The restrictions are due to apply to sections of Bridport Road N18; Broadfield Square EN1; Broomfield Lane N13; Chatsworth Drive and Lee Road EN1; Enfield Road EN2; Haselbury Road N9; Hoe Lane EN1; Lonsdale Drive EN2; Manor Court and Manor Farm Road EN1; Montagu Road N18; Park Road EN3.

The restrictions will operate at “any time” between April 27 and May 11.

Meanwhile, other roads in the Enfield area are due to be temporarily closed for roadworks.

An overnight closure is due to be in place in Green Street EN3, between its junction with Mollison Avenue and Jute Lane, on April 21.
