A talented ladies footballer studying for her ‘A’ Levels has secured a scholarship at a university in America.
Katie Phillips, 17, who plays for Crystal Palace Ladies and attends Our Lady’s Convent High School will study Corrections and Criminal Justice at Tennessee Wesleyan University.
Katie who is predicted 3 ‘A’ grades for philosophy, sociology, and psychology received the scholarship because of her footballing talent.
Katie, said: “It’s been my dream to study in America since I was 13, and I feel really lucky to be the only freshman in the team from the UK.”
Concerns of missing home will need to be managed as Katie balances the university’s famed athletics programme with her academic studies.
Her long-term goal is to work in criminal law.
Katie will be in America when her A level results are published towards the end of the summer.
