Five armed robbers who stole hundreds of thousands of pounds across Enfield and Haringey have been jailed.

Ashley Waterman, Daniel Marsden, Paul Hinge, Michael Palmer and Sheldon Hussey are all in prison after stealing £240,000 in a 15 robbery, six-month crime spree last year.

During one of the robberies - at Sainsbury's in Lordship Lane on August 22, 2015 – a handgun was fired, although they were later found to be blanks.

Waterman, of Silverdale Close, Northolt, received the longest sentence at the Old Bailey today (Monday, October 10) after pleading guilty to seven counts of conspiracy to rob between May 24 and October 31, 2015, as well as possession of an imitation firearm on three occasions.

He was jailed for 15 years and eight months.

The first of his seven offences took place outside the Morrison's store in Stamford Hill on July 9, which began a crime wave by the 28-year-old which included robberies in St. Mark’s Road, Enfield on September 4, West Green Road on September 30, and Southbury Leisure Park on October 22.

Police caught up to him and his accomplices however, and were waiting for Waterman and Marsden as they prepared to commit a robbery at around 4am on October 31 in Whymark Avenue, Wood Green.

The other four men were jailed on September 12.

Marsden, 31, of Whitley Close, Irthlingborough, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to rob, and was also found guilty, following a trial at the Old Bailey, of possession of an imitation firearm. He was jailed for 14 years.

Palmer, 24, of Lansdowne Road, Tottenham pleaded guilty to the robbery in Lordship Lane during which shots were fired. He was sentenced to two years and 10 months behind bars.

Hinge, 28, of Fladbury Road, Tottenham, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to rob, after being involved in both the St. Marks Road and Sainsbury’s crimes. He was given four years and four months' imprisonment.

Hussey, 26, of Plevna Crescent, Tottenham, pleaded guilty to a robbery at Dearsley Road, Enfield on October 7. Like Palmer, he will serve two years and 10 months.
