Not been paying attention to what has been going on Enfield during the General Election?

No need to worry because you can access all the new from the dramatic night at the Lee Valley Athletics centre, in Meridian Water, where the crucial verdicts were delivered.

Enfield North swung back to Labour where Joan Ryan took the seat from Nick de Bois with a 1,086 majority.

The new MP accused de Bois of launching a ‘smear’ campaign during the election however the outgoing MP de Bois said he was ‘proud’ of his record over the past five years.

No shocks were provided in Enfield Southgate where David Burrowes saw his majority trimmed but not fall away as he beat Bambos Charalambous for the second time.

Burrowes said the result was thrilling whilst the Labour candidate Charalambous was left to lick his wounds.

Finally Kate Osamor triumphed with a whopping 15,000 majority in Edmonton over nearest rival Gonul Daniels.

Ms Osamor, the Labour candidate, paid homage to her mother who had attempted to stand for Labour in the Vauxhall by-election in 1989 but was thwarted in the final moments by Neil Kinnock.
