It is exactly two years since Park Theatre opened its doors in Finsbury Park and it is gearing up for a special 2nd Birthday Party event.

The community celebration on Thursday, May 21 will feature a double-bill of the venue’s current plays by local writer Avaes Mohammad’s Hurling Rubble at the Sun at 4pm and Hurling Rubble at the Moon at 7pm.

In between the shows there will be festive fare from pop-up food stalls run by Finsbury Park businesses Exeter Street Bakery, Osteria Tufo, Season Kitchen, My Cottage Café and more.

Park Theatre opened on May 8, 2013 and its ambassadors include Celia Imrie, Tamzin Outhwaite, David Horovitch and the late, great Roger Lloyd Pack.

Last year it's 1st birthday gala was attended by stars such as Benedict Cumberbatch, Alan Rickman, Harry Enfield, Maureen Lipman and was compèred by Sir Ian McKellen.

In January it was announced it had won The Stage's 2014 Fringe Theatre of the Year Award.

Yesterday it announced that its latest production Dead Sheep, deconstructing the relationship between Margaret Thatcher and Geoffrey Howe had broken box office records.
