A teenager is hoping to raise awareness of cancer by filming a one-to-one interview with his “inspirational” mother.

Ben Doyle, 18, of Peartree Road, Enfield, plans to make a short film in which his mother, Jackie, will speak about her cancer experience for the first time.

The filmmaker has launched a fundraising page in order to cover the costs of equipment and create a video which he hopes will make an impact on other people’s lives.

He said: “A few months ago I thought about asking my mum how it felt and what helped her through the treatment. This gave me the idea of sharing a video with the world and hopefully help others in a similar situation.”

Ben’s mother was diagnosed with breast cancer  three years ago and recent scans have shown her to be clear of the disease.

Speaking to the Enfield Independent, Mr Doyle paid tribute to his mother, who was the main reason he decided to go into filmmaking.

He said: “Her positivity through some very difficult times has been the most inspirational thing. I was not sure what to do with myself and she told me ‘life is what you make of it’ which inspired me to do filmmaking.

“I want to strip everything back and just have the two of us in a room, talking about what she went through.
