A plethora of British performers made their way to a theatre to celebrate its 40th anniversary.

Special guests such as Simon Callow, Ricky Norwood, Natalie Cassidy, Anneka Rice and Michelle Collins all visited the Chickenshed, in Cockfosters, as it celebrated four decades of performances.

The special celebration performance of Peter Pan took place at the theatre on Sunday, January 4, and rounded off the anniversary year for the inclusive theatre company.

Susan Jamson of Chickenshed, said: “Chickenshed were delighted and extremely excited to be welcoming guests from stage and screen to our theatre on Sunday evening to see Peter Pan.

“This special celebration performance was the stunning finale to our anniversary year, and gave us an opportunity to launch the next step of our incredible theatrical journey, which started in a modest chicken barn 40 years ago.

“Our special guests included Declan Bennett, Simon Callow, Natalie Cassidy, Michelle Collins, Lindsey Coulson, Melanie Hill, Maureen Lipman, Ricky Norwood, Himesh Patel, Anneka Rice, Dmtry Sitkovestsky and Rakhee Thakrar.

“Thank you also to Deputy Mayor of Enfield Patricia Ekechi and Councillor Bambos Charalambous for attending this evening.

“Chickenshed would like to take this opportunity of hugely thanking the communities of Enfield and Barnet who have generously supported Chickenshed for the last 40 years and we look forward to sharing a successful and busy future together.”
