A campaigner has been selected to be the Liberal Democrat candidate in Enfield Southgate.
Paul Smith, of Enfield, will stand in the constituency against current MP David Burrowes in the General Election in May.
Mr Smith also stood in Enfield North in 2010 but lost to Nick de Bois.
Enfield Southgate has traditionally been a two-way shootout between Conservatives and Labour, with MP Burrowes holding a 7,626 majority.
The Liberal Democrat candidate said: "I am honoured to be selected to be the prospective MP for my own constituency at the next General Election.
"Something is wrong when food banks are needed to feed some Enfield residents, but the country cannot continue borrowing. We need an honest and blunt conversation about the services that people need and the price that we, as a country, will need to pay."
