The streets were lit up for Enfield Town's fourth annual Christmas parade of light.

Community groups, theatres and volunteers all came together to take part in the procession through Enfield Town.

Charity stalls were set up in a market as floats made their way down Church Street, Enfield Town.

A bucket collection raised almost £1,000 for the Mayor's charities as well as Nightingale Cancer Support Centre, based in Lancaster Road.

North London Brass Band, St Anne’s Catholic High School for Girls and Enfield Community Choir entertained the crowds before the lights were switched on by Mayor of Enfield Ali Bakir.

Kathy Worrell, who helped organise the event, said: “It just keeps getting bigger and bigger and we have had so much support from many businesses in Enfield.

“We are giving something back to Enfield and we have brought in the festive season in style.”

Town centre manager Mark Rudling added: “This year’s parade was even more successful than last year.

“Hundreds of people lined the streets around Enfield Town to follow the Christmas Parade and to be entertained in the Market Square by local Enfield Band, Back To Square One while they waited for the Parade to enter Church Street.

“It was wonderful to see so many members of the local community fill Enfield Town for an afternoon of fun. It’s what town centres are all about. You can’t buy that over the internet.”

“The town’s Christmas lights are the best we have ever had.”
