Here's your guide to some of the best Halloween-themed things to do in the week ahead:
- Frankenstein
Halloween is all about theatrics and Garden Suburb Theatre will have you on the ege of your seat with this adaptation of Mary Shelley’s story about a creature who journeys from newly-created scientific ’triumph’ to becoming his young creator’s nemesis.
Upstairs at the Gatehouse, Highgate Village, N6 4BD, October 30 to November 2, various times. Details: 020 8340 3488, upstairsatthegatehouse.com
- The Rocky Horror Picture Show
Get on your suspenders and gothic garb and dance along to a screening of this cult film starring Tim Curry and Susan Sarandon about a loving couple, a few lost monsters and a sweet transvestite from transsexual Transylvania.
ArtHouse, Tottenham Lane, Crouch End, Friday, October 31, 11pm. Details: arthousecrouchend.co.uk
- Darkside of Forty Hall
Join Joe Studman as he explores the dishonesty, financial failure and rumours of treason attached to the families who lived at the Hall at this atmospheric tour for adults. With a sprinkling of ghosts, curses and unsavoury tales added for good measure! A children’s event runs earlier in the day.
Forty Hall, Forty Hill, Friday, October 31, bar opens 7.30pm, tour starts at 8.30pm.
- Vampire Horrors in a Tea Shop
Think you are safe in a tea shop on Halloween? Think again! Because with a double billing of 1922 silent horror classic, Nosferatu, you are twice as likely to be tempted to sink your fangs into something, or someone. Luckily, there are Halloween themed snacks and drinks on offer to tempt you away from human blood.
Baskervilles Tea Shop, 66 Aldermans Hill, Palmers Green, N13, Friday, October 31, films screened at 7.30pm and 9.30pm. Details: 020 8351 1673, baskervillesteashop.co.uk
- Spooky trail!
Calling all ghosts and ghouls, witches and werewolves, skeletons and sprites! Dress up, take a deep breath and set out on an exploration of this spooky historic house and its mysterious gardens. Who knows whom you might meet so be ready for the unexpected! Or catch the Spooky Magic Show on November 1.
Lauderdale House, Waterlow Park, Highgate Hill, N6 5HG, Friday, October 31, 5pm and 6.15pm. Details: 020 8348 8716, lauderdalehouse.co.uk
