The level of youth unemployment in Enfield is at its lowest for four years, according to figures.
The number of young people claiming Job Seekers' Allowance in the borough has dropped to 1,825, the lowest since January 2009.
Figures from Enfield Borough Council and Job Centre Plus have revealed a 7.4 per cent fall in the number of young people unemployed since July 2013.
Enfield Council’s cabinet member for finance and property Councillor Andrew Stafford said: “I am extremely proud of the success of the Enfield apprenticeship scheme which has proactively addressed the twin issues of youth unemployment within the borough and an ageing workforce in the council.
“The apprentices I have met have been full of energy, enthusiasm and new ideas. I am confident that they will be the experts and managers of the future.”
