Ticketless parking at Palace Gardens Shopping Centre in Enfield a success claims council

A council claims a ticketless parking at an Enfield shopping centre has been a "big hit" with shoppers.

The new system was introduced by Enfield Borough Council earlier this month at the Palace Gardens Shopping Centre.

The ticketless system works by filming the number plates of cars as they enter the car park.

Shoppers then visit a ticket machine when they are due to leave the car park, select their vehicle from a choice on a screen, pay their car parking charge and leave.

What are your experiences of using the new system? Leave your comments below.

Its not a bad system but the contact screen is awkward to use .Sometimes when I touch the screen to input my vehicle number it comes up incorrectly. I personally would have preferred a key pad.And we don't all have steady hands.

I first used this system in Welwyn and wondered when it would be installed in Enfield, an excellent idea and (hopefully) a good way of getting your car back if it gets nicked. To me this outweighs any cost of the system and you can always get someone to help you if you've unsteady hands, I did.
