A babbling brook is set to benefit from an environmental project to help clear it of pollutants.

Enfield Borough Council will tackle pollution in Salmons Brook at Bury Park Lodge, on the site of the former council depot in Bury Street.

Also in Grovelands Park a wet woodland area will be created to help connect the park’s natural drainage, and both schemes will help clean water which runs off roads and pavements.

Work on the two projects is due to start early next year and the council says it will be working with community groups and the environment agency throughout.

The projects have come about after plans were agreed to build 100 new homes on the former depot site, and the council says the schemes show its commitment to reducing the environmental impact of developments.
