A man has been released on bail after appearing in court accused of attempting to have sex with a sheep.

Paul Lovell, of Magpie Close, Enfield, appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court in Holloway Road, London, charged with outraging public decency and indecent exposure.

The IT worker was accused of trying to have sex with the animal on Whitewebbs Lane, Enfield, next to Tottenham Hotspur’s training ground on Wednesday, September 4.

The first count alleges Mr Lovell of behaving in an indecent manner by trying to commit a sexual act with a sheep and attempting to encourage the sheep to perform a sexual act. The second count claims that the 60-year-old exposed his genitals intentionally.

Denying both charges, the Enfield man will be tried at Wood Green Crown Court in Lordship Lane, Haringey on October 2.

The conditions of his bail are that he does not, for any reason, return to Whitewebbs Lane.
