Police are appealing for information about two separate crashes which have left two people dead.

Officers were called to the first incident by the London Ambulance Service at just before 1.30am to the The Ridgeway, Enfield on Saturday August 24.

A 24-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene after police the silver Toyota MR2 he was travelling in hit an out-of-service bus before ending up in a ditch.

On the same morning, police were called to reports of a second collision in Green Lanes, Winchmore Hill, near the junction with Aldermans Hill at 3.30am on Saturday.

A black BMW had crashed into Ford Galaxy mini-cab and a route 29 bus.

The driver of the mini-cab, a man believed to be in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene and police are informing his next of kin.

The driver of the BMW was taken to hospital where he remains. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

He was arrested by officers in connection with the incident and street bailed to attend a police station in early September.

A man believed to be in his 40s, who was a passenger of the mini-cab, was also taken to hospital for treatment and later discharged.

Police are calling for anyone with any information about either of the incidents to get in contact.
