Firefighters have got themselves in an extra hairy situation this month – all in the name of Movember.
Twelve firemen from Edmonton Fire Station in Church Street are growing the money-making moustaches to raise cash for children’s cancer charity Clic Sargent.
However, the firemen have to keep their tashes tame by staying above the lipline to meet the fire service’s facial hair regulations.
The firefighters selected the charity after it supported a firefighter’s son, six-year-old Ollie Kelly, while he recovered from leukaemia.
Carl Cooper, who is growing a tash for the good cause, said: “It’s good because everyone talks about it when we have the tashes.”
He said the green watch squad have raised approximately £300 through cash and online donations but they would like to raise as much money as possible for the good cause.
