Tottenham youngster Danny Rose has revealed he would love to make his loan move to Sunderland permanent.

The 22-year-old joined the Black Cats in the summer with a view to getting more regular first team football and made his first start in the 1-1 draw with Liverpool on Sunday.

Rose told the Sunderland Echo: "If there was a chance that I could move here permanently, I'd snatch it with both hands."

"Nothing has been said of that kind. I'm just here on loan for the season and anything after that would be a bonus.

"The gaffer just asked me to come here on loan and said I'd play more games here than I would at Spurs which is right. I've just got to take it game by game and see where it takes me."

Rose may be cursing his luck after Benoit Assou-Ekotto was recently ruled out for up to a month with an injury, consequently freeing up the left-back position at Spurs.

Kyle Naughton filled the void for Tottenham against Reading on Sunday.
