New Salamis comfortably advanced to the second qualifying round of the FA Vase with a 4-0 win against Spartan South Midlands League Division Two side Codicote.
In their first ever game in the competition, Courtney Austin and Richard Georgiou scored two apiece to set up a home tie against Tower Hamlets in the next round.
It took just 11 minutes for Salamis to break the deadlock, doing so through new signing Austin before Georgiou doubled the lead from the penalty spot.
Georgiou grabbed his second four minutes into the second half to put the game beyond Codicote, and a second penalty dispatched by Austin made the tie safe.
Salamis’ next league game comes this Saturday at 3pm away at FC Broxbourne Borough, while the Tower Hamlets match will take place on Friday, September 13, kicking off at 7.45pm..
