It may be almost two months since Leyton Orient last won a League Two match, but consecutive draws, as well as another one before bowing out on penalties in the Leasing.com Trophy, definitely has the side "steadying the ship", according to Josh Wright.

Before playing out a goalless draw with play-off chasers Bradford City yesterday afternoon, Orient had also left Oldham Athletic with a hard-fought point and taken League One outfit Bristol Rovers to a penalty shoot-out following a 1-1 draw.

It's not quite the winning feeling that the O's experienced in the early part of October, but the fact they are now starting to put points on the board again after a run of five straight losses in all competitions is a good sign.

After yesterday's game, Wright said: "At the end of the day it's all about putting points on the board. Of course, you want to win games but considering the run that we've been on, it's all about steadying the ship which I think we're certainly doing of late.

"On top of that, I think the biggest thing out of today was the performance. I felt we looked very solid, very organised. It's hard, straight after the game, to dissect it, but off the top of my head, I think we've had the best chances as well and I get the feeling from some of their players that they felt we should have won the game or could have won the game.

"That can maybe leave you a little bit frustrated but if you look at Bradford City at the start of the season and now, I think if they don't go up you'd be slightly surprised. We've probably just played certainly the biggest but one of the better sides in the division and to run them that close and to probably deserve to win, we'll take the positives out of that and be very pleased."

The poor run throughout November saw Orient ship seven goals in their three league matches and exit the FA Cup against non-league Maldon & Tiptree, but Wright says the players have regrouped over the last week and that there is a better feeling around the camp.

He said: "It's been a very good week. We've worked very hard. We've re-grouped, I think, over the last few weeks because we've been a little bit stop-start for obvious reasons.

"I just feel it's really starting to settle now. The results are coming. I think if you look at the Bristol Rovers game, in 90 minutes that's three on the bounce now unbeaten, albeit it's three draws but against some good sides and some tough places to go, two away from home and now back here at home.

"I think we gave the fans something to cheer about today. We've got more, I think we can create more. If we can get into the final third we can but we were working so hard on the training ground to nullify Bradford's threats which I think we did, and we also caused them a problem up the other way."
